Elsa & Elliot is a fully lined coat in two variants: A) a straight coat, and B) a coat with a pleated peplum. Choose your fabrics based on the season. The coat’s shell (main fabric) can be sewn in for example wool, fleece, softshell or rainwear fabric and be lined with light-weight shiny fabrics such as satin. Or heavier, warm fabrics such as teddy or fleece.
You can choose to sew the coat without a collar, or with a hood*, removable hood,Peter Pan collar, classic flat collar or just a neckline cuff.
Variant A can be sewn with patch pockets, with or without a flap. Elsa & Elliot is a wonderful coat for both boys and girls, and a great pattern for sewing different kinds of coats for different seasons.
Sizes: 74-146 (approx. 9 months - 11 years)
Recommended fabrics: For the shell: For example wool, fleece, bouclé, softshell, rainwear fabric. For the lining: For example polyester or satin lining. Or teddy, fleece, quilted lining, mesh.
You will also need:Buttons (approx. 4-8) 20-30 mm in size. Fusible interfacing (to stabilize buttonholes and collar). 5 pairs of snap buttons and tools to attach them (for removable hood).
Level of difficulty: 3/3 (Suitable for those with some sewing experience).
Format: PDF-patterns include two formats: A4/letter size for home printing, and A0 size for copy shop printing, note: only one sheet may be printed. The A4/letter pattern is 48 pages. The tutorial is included as a PDF-file.
Techniques: Sewing woven fabric, sewing buttonholes and facings, hand sewing (slip stitches), attaching snap buttons. All steps (except snap buttons) are explained thoroughly in the tutorial.
Note! You don't need a serger for this garment, but you can use one for some parts of it.

It includes clear pictures, explanatory text and tips that will give the garment a professional look. If you’re a beginner, or new to some of the techniques this will be an opportunity for you to develop your sewing skills. The tutorial also includes a size chart and a fabric requirements chart.
When you purchase a PDF-pattern from us you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to three PDF-files: the tutorial, the A4/letter sized pattern, and the A0 pattern. Save all the files on your computer, and please also make a safety copy. Threads by Caroline does not undertake to store your files.

Large format patterns (A0, A1, A2) may only be printed once.
