See the fabric & supplies requirements chart among the pictures.
YOU WILL NEED:
Fabric:
- For the front, back, sleeves, collar, hood: Wilma and Wide is constructed and tested for fleece fabrics, medium or heavy weight, with 10-40% stretch, but you can also use other similar fabrics.
- For sleeve cuffs: I recommend ribbing fabric.
- For the zipper facing, zipper pockets and collar lining: If your jacket fabric is heavy you can consider using another fabric for these pieces, for example jersey, interlock or ribb.
- For the binding: I recommend interlock or ribb fabric.
1 separating zipper. The zippers don’t need to have the exact length in the chart, but it can’t be shorter. In the tutorial I show you how to shorten a zipper.
2 zipper stops, if you’re shortening your separating zipper.
2 non-separating zippers (if you’re sewing zipper pockets). The zipper doesn’t have to be the exact length in the chart, but it can’t be shorter.
Interfacing for the collar and zipper pockets, fusible or sew-in.
Sewing machine needle in the appropriate size.
4-5 snap buttons and appropriate tools, if you’re sewing the hood.
Other useful tools: fabric glue marker, binder (not necessary), side nippers and pliers (if you’re shortening your separating zipper).
